Evan Anderson is E.D. Brockett Professor of Information and Operations Management at Texas A&M University, and co-founder of the Texas A&M Center for Information Assurance and Security, which has been designated as an NSA Center of Educational Excellence. Prior to joining Texas A&M, he was GMU Foundation Professor and Director of Technology Management in the Graduate Business Institute at George Mason University. At GMU, he was a member of the core faculty of the Institute for Computational Sciences and Informatics and Director of an IT Industry Consortium. He received a B.B.A (1965) from the University of Iowa, an M.B.A (1966) from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and Ph.D. (1970) from Cornell University. He has served as Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and Faculty Affairs, Professor, and Area Coordinator of Managerial Economics and MIS in the School of Management at the University of Texas-Dallas; Associate Professor of Managerial Economics in the A.B. Freeman Graduate School of Business at Tulane University; Visiting Associate Professor of Management in the Owen Graduate School of Management, Vanderbilt University; Visiting Scholar at the Graduate School of Business, University of Chicago; and Distinguished Visiting Professor of Technology Management at the Graziadio School of Business and Management, Pepperdine University. Since 1973, he has held periodically an appointment as a Senior Member of St. Anthony’s College, Oxford University, England. His research has appeared in journals such as: Accounting Review, Decision Sciences, Operations Research, Naval Research Logistics, Management Science, University of Chicago’s Journal of Business, IIE Transaction, Journal of Management Information Systems, MIS Quarterly, and IEEE Transactions: Engineering Management. His research and educational initiatives have been funded by grants from organizations such as: Bell Atlantic-Nynex, CISCO Systems, EDS, Hughes Electronics, IBM, Perot Systems, the National Security Agency and Teradata (NCR). His current research focuses on Information Security, Privacy and Risk Management, and eServices.

Dr. Arreola-Risa received his B.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Monterrey Institute of Technology (ITESM) in Mexico, his M.S. in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Operations Management from Stanford University. Prior to joining Texas A&M, Dr. Arreola-Risa worked as a production and inventory control analyst at a steel manufacturing firm and later he taught at ITESM and at the University of Washington.

Dr. Joobin Choobineh, B.S., MBA, Ph.D. received his Ph.D. degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona in 1985. Currently he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Information and Operations Management at Texas A&M University.

Dr. Choobineh's research interests include investigation of intelligent systems to solve organizational problems, business security and continuity, data modeling, electronic commerce, and integration of data and mathematical models. He has written more than fifty (50) articles that have appeared in conference proceedings and journals such as (in alphabetical order) Annals of Operations Research, Communications of the ACM, Database Engineering, Decision Support Systems, IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, Information and Management, Information Strategy, Information Systems, Information Systems Management, INFORMS Journal on Computing, Intl. J. Of Operations & Production Management, J. of Database Management, J. of Management Information Systems, Omega, and The Database for Advances in Information Systems.

Since 1986, Dr. Choobineh has successfully delivered results on research and educational grants in excess of $1,200,000 that were funded by firms such as CISCO Systems, EDS, HP, and Texas Instruments. He has served as the chair of 8 and committee member of 11 Ph.D. students. He has served as the chair and committee member of hundreds of Master of Science students. Dr. Choobineh is currently an Associate Editor of INFORMS Journal on Computing and serves on the editorial board of the International Journal of Business Information Systems.

George Fowler's research interests are in the area of Information Systems curriculum, small business systems, end user computing, system integration and programming complexity. Recently he has made a presentation on "Teaching with the Internet." His research has appeared in Decision Sciences, Association for Educational Data System Journal, The Journal of Data Education, Interface, ACM and Computers and Education. His research has been cited in the Communications of the ACM and several other journals.

Professor Fowler has a strong interest in teaching and service. He is also involved with industry as the department's corporate liaison. He is very active with the Association of Information Technology Professionals, AITP Education Foundation and the Information Systems Education Conferences as well as other professional organizations. George Fowler served on the executive committee for the National Information Systems Education Conference (ISECON) meetings sponsored by the AITP Education Foundation for 10 years. He also served as the Conference Chairman in 1985 and 1993. In 1998 he served as the Conference Chairman for the AITP National Collegiate Student Conference.

Dr. Fowler has been the Texas A&M Student AITP Chapter advisor for over 20 years. During that time the chapter has been recognized as one of the leading chapters as evidenced by the number of SCOPA awards it has received. He and the student chapter were on the planning committee for the 1997 Region 3 Student Conference.

Dr. Fowler is the author of two textbooks. His first text is titled "COBOL: Structured Programming techniques for Solving Problems" - published by Boyd & Fraser Publishing Company. It is in its second edition. The second text is co-authored and titled "Ethical Issues in Information Systems: A Book of Readings" and was released by Boyd & Fraser in the fall of 1991.

Currently, Dr. Fowler serves the department as coordinator of the Internship and Scholarship programs. These efforts are part of his role as Director for the Center for the Management of Information Systems.

Dr. `Jon (Sean) Jasperson holds a BS in Accounting and Master of Accountancy degrees from Brigham Young University (1994). He earned a PhD in Information Management Sciences from Florida State University in 1999. Professor Jasperson’s research interests include the adoption, use, management, and implementation of information technology in organizational settings. In particular, he is interested in how organizations give incentive to their employees to use IT in their work.

His teaching emphasis is on systems development and database management systems. He has taught a number of management information systems courses in the areas of systems analysis and design, object-oriented systems development, accounting information systems, decision support systems, expert systems, COBOL, introductory MIS concepts, and quantitative methods for business decision making. His research has been published in MIS Quarterly, Communications of the ACM, and Journal of Information Systems.

Dr. Dwayne Whitten979-845-2919

Dr. Whitten received a B.A. in Accounting and Business Administration, an M.B.A., and later a Doctorate in Business Administration (major in Computer Information Systems). He has taught on the faculty at five universities, with his most recent appointment at Baylor University. He is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Information and Operations Management at Texas A&M University.

Dr. Whitten's primary research interests are in the areas of IT outsourcing, IT security, and work-life balance. He is actively engaged in several research projects. These projects include determining "best practices" related to IT security governance, providing secure outsourcing relationships in a global environment, the use of C-TPAT to gain competitive advantage through supply chains, improving IT outsourcing effectiveness, and improving work-life balance in the corporate environment.

In the past few years, Dr. Whitten has published over twenty journal articles in publications such as the Harvard Business Review, Journal of Strategic Information Systems, European Journal of Information Systems, Decision Sciences Journal, Journal of Computer Information Systems, Industrial Management and Data Systems, International Journal of Services and Standards, Journal of Organizational and End User Computing, Communications of the AIS, International Journal of Mobile Communications, and University of Arkansas at Little Rock Law Review among others.
